Vayu - Connecting Nepalis Across the Globe
Dear Members of TGND,
Welcome to the November edition of the TGND Newsletter! As we move into the final months of the year, we’re thrilled to share exciting updates and opportunities with you. This month, we have a special Founder’s Note, recaps of recent community events across Seattle, San Francisco, Houston, and Philadelphia, and the latest from our podcast series. Plus, we’re excited to announce the upcoming TGND Summit—a chance for us all to connect, learn, and celebrate together!
Founder’s Note 🖋️
Hi everyone!
It has been an eventful month for TGND with interesting events for various chapters and hubs. One intentional theme you might recognize is “collaboration” and that’s a value that’s not just in our mission statement but internalized.
Our community is built to get stronger and better as more collaborations happen and we are championing that ethos through intentional alliances and partnerships. We’ve helped Daayitwa fundraise and individuals like actress/activist Nisha Adhikari Malla and organizations like Ek Ek Paila connect to the diaspora. For our event in Philadelphia, we collaborated with Nepali Women in Computing while for the one in San Francisco, we worked with Link-Learn-Lift (L3), Stanford University Nepali Student Association, Global Health Advocacy & Research (GHAR) and National Nepali Youth Network (NNYN).
Something I am very much looking forward to is what we hope will be our marquee event. TGND Summit: Empowering Nepali Excellence, Inspiring Global Impact will be a virtual day of learning and growing on Dec 15 with Dr. Sameer Maskey from Fusemachines Inc as the keynote speaker.
As Dashain/Tihar give way to Thanksgiving and the holiday season in the US, I wish you all good health and happiness.
Best regards,
Preeti
